In conjunction with National Farmers’ Market Week, Farm Credit East is announcing its recent awarding of $100,000 in small grants to 186 farmers’ markets and farmers’ market organizations across the Northeast. 

The Farm Credit Northeast AgEnhancement Program, a joint effort of Farm Credit East and CoBank, recently provided more than $100,000 in grant funding to 22 organizations to assist their efforts to encourage youth leadership development, support young and beginning farmer initiatives, promote diversity, equity and inclusion, and advance northeast agriculture, forestry and commercial fishing. 

ENFIELD, CONN. — The application period is now open for Farm Credit East’s Farmers’ Market Grant program. This annual program provides small grants to Northeast farmers’ markets to support their promotion and development efforts. Interested farmers’ markets must apply by May 31.

There are a number of grants and incentives available for Northeast agriculture businesses but learning about their availability and navigating the application can be a challenge. To help with this process, Farm Credit East recently released a report identifying federal, regional and state grants, loan guarantees, and other incentives available to assist Northeast producers.
