In conjunction with National Farmers’ Market Week, Farm Credit East is announcing its recent awarding of $100,000 in small grants to 186 farmers’ markets and farmers’ market organizations across the Northeast. 

Farm Credit East, the Northeast’s largest agricultural lender, recently awarded $90,000 in higher education scholarships to 41 student recipients. Farm Credit East’s scholarship program supports students with diverse career aspirations in agriculture, commercial fishing, forest products and related fields from across the association’s eight-state territory, including four diversity candidate recipients.

Farm Credit East recently awarded $33,000 in scholarships to support 22 Northeast educators’ attendance at Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE) institutes this summer. CASE institutes provide educators with training and resources to teach CASE curriculum courses to high school students. 

At Farm Credit East’s Annual Meeting held earlier this week, the financial cooperative was pleased to announce two winners of the Lipinski Rural Initiatives award. This year’s recipients are being recognized for their innovative approaches for improving rural access to healthcare and investing in rural businesses. Each recipient was awarded $25,000.
