Reminder: November 20 Crop Insurance Deadline for Perennial Fruit Crops

Northeast fruit growers have until November 20, 2026, to purchase or update crop insurance coverage for the 2027 crop year. Growers are encouraged to contact their Crop Growers agent well before the deadline to review available coverage.

Important Update on New York Farm Employer Overtime Tax Credit Refunds

After filing their 2025 tax returns, Farm Credit East learned that many farm taxpayers received an adjustment notice from New York State reducing the amount of their requested refund. The adjustments stemmed from a disallowance of the Farm Employer Overtime Tax Credit claimed on form CT- or IT-661.

2026 Director Election Petition Notification

Farm Credit East’s bylaws provide for the nomination of candidates by petition. To gain access by petition, an eligible nominee must provide the secretary of the association with signatures of at least 50 voting members by Thursday, January 22, 2026.
