Farm Credit East was pleased to host 12 college students with career aspirations in production agriculture, agribusiness, accounting, finance, communications or related fields as part of its annual summer internship program. The internship program is offered to college juniors each summer.

Following devastating flooding in Vermont and other parts of the Northeast, Farm Credit East has announced its Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund will make available up to $250,000 in flood relief to impacted Northeast producers. In addition, CoBank, Farm Credit East’s funding bank, and Farmer Mac are contributing to this effort.

There are a number of grants and incentives available for Northeast agriculture businesses but learning about their availability and navigating the application can be a challenge. To help with this process, Farm Credit East recently released a report identifying federal, regional and state grants, loan guarantees, and other incentives available to assist Northeast producers.

Farm Credit East, recently awarded $68,000 in higher education scholarships to 40 student recipients. Farm Credit East’s scholarship program supports students with diverse career aspirations in agriculture, commercial fishing, forest products and related fields from across the association’s eight-state territory, including four diversity candidate recipients.
