In honor of National FFA Week taking place February 17-25, Farm Credit East has announced its awarding of 15 scholarships to students involved in The National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Organization to support their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE).

Farm Credit East, ACA, the Northeast’s largest agricultural lending cooperative, announced its distribution of $120 million in cash patronage dividends to 12,500 farm, fishing and forestry business owners and operators across the Northeast. In addition, the board approved a special one-time patronage distribution based on 2023’s outstanding financial results, for a total of $130 million of earnings returned to customer-owners. 

Farm Credit East, a member-owned lending and financial services cooperative, is currently accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors and college students with career aspirations in agriculture, commercial fishing and the forest products industries from across the association’s eight-state territory. Applications are due by March 15.

Farm Credit East is currently accepting nominations for the Lipinski Rural Initiatives Award, which aims to recognize innovative and transformational efforts to revitalize Northeast rural communities. For 2024, Farm Credit East and its strategic partner CoBank have committed to award a combined $50,000 to one or more recipients. The nomination deadline has been extended to February 12, 2024.
