Farm Credit East is hosting GenerationNext seminars this fall and winter for agricultural producers and agribusiness professionals looking to strengthen their leadership skills and prepare for greater responsibility within their businesses. Available through both in-person and virtual formats, GenerationNext helps participants develop the business knowledge, leadership capabilities and practical tools needed to make informed decisions, manage people and finances, navigate risk, and support long-term business success.

The Farm Credit Northeast AgEnhancement Program, a joint effort of Farm Credit East and CoBank, recently provided $80,000 in grant funding to 18 organizations to assist their efforts to support young and beginning farmer initiatives, encourage youth leadership development, promote diversity equity and inclusion, and advance northeast agriculture, forestry and commercial fishing. Submissions for the next round of grant funding are due by December 1.

The deadline to insure Northeast perennial crops for the 2024 crop year is November 20, 2023. Insurable perennial crops include apples, peaches, grapes, cranberries, blueberries, pears and cherries.
