Application Open for Scholarships to Support Agricultural Educators

February 9, 2021

Farm Credit East is accepting applications from Northeast agricultural educators to support their attendance at institutes offered by the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE). Scholarships will cover up to 50% of the cost up to $1,000. The application deadline is February 28.

CASE, a project of the National Association of Agricultural Educators, has developed high school courses that integrate science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts with hands-on, inquiry-based learning. CASE offers educator training to provide the tools needed to offer this coursework in high school classrooms. In fall 2018, CASE began offering an agricultural business curriculum developed with support from Farm Credit East.

In 2021, all institutes will be held virtually. Visit case4learning.org to learn more. Since 2009, CASE has certified 2,335 teachers from 46 states and the Virgin Islands, including 157 teachers from the Northeast states Farm Credit East serves.

To apply for a scholarship, educators must teach in a school district within Farm Credit East’s seven state territory and must currently or plan to teach agricultural or natural resources courses. Scholarships will cover up to 50% of the cost of the CASE institute, not to exceed $1,000. To learn more or to apply, FarmCreditEast.com/AgEducator. The deadline to apply is February 28, 2021.
