At Farm Credit East, we are relationship lenders. Not only do we get to know ag businesses, but we also get to know our customers personally. On #NationalGetToKnowYourCustomerDay, we’d like to share a real-life example of our commitment to relationship lending.
Last week launched Farm Credit’s “One Mission. Many Voices.” campaign. It’s purpose? To share Farm Credit’s mission – to provide a reliable source of credit and financial services to rural communities and agriculture today and tomorrow – through the many voices of the agricultural producers, commercial fishermen and forest products producers that Farm Credit serves. Good analysis starts with good data. The USDA’s Census of Agriculture is a valuable source of data to understand the make-up and operation of our nation’s agriculture, and so it’s important that it’s as accurate and comprehensive as possible. New farmers, or existing farmers who have not participated in a prior Census of Agriculture, can sign up to be counted through the end of June.
Last year, more than 832,000 cows in the Northeast produced almost 19.2 billion pounds of milk. To kick off #NationalDairyMonth and #WorldMilkDay, be sure to thank a dairy farmer for their contribution of a wholesome, nutritious product.
