Join Farm Credit East for a webinar on Friday, August 7, from 12-1 p.m.,  that will discuss the 2019 Northeast Dairy Farm Summary (DFS), an economic analysis of the Northeast dairy industry, as well as a look at how dairy farms are doing as of mid-year 2020.

Farm Credit East recently announced the opening of nominations for its newly created Lipinski Rural Initiatives Award. This award was established by the Farm Credit East board of directors earlier this year in conjunction with Bill Lipinski’s retirement as CEO to recognize Lipinski’s 25 years as CEO and 40 years of service to Farm Credit East and related organizations.

Farm Credit East is pleased the Risk Management Agency (RMA) has announced the extension of Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) coverage to soybean producers in Aroostook County, Maine; Hampden, Hampshire and Worcester counties in Massachusetts; Middlesex, Morris and Sussex counties in New Jersey; and Lewis and Ulster counties in New York.

The Farm Credit System today reported that combined net income increased 3.8% to $1.8 billion for the first quarter of 2022, as compared with $1.7 billion for the same period of the prior year.

In light of COVID-19’s impact on Northeast agricultural businesses, Farm Credit East’s Board of Directors recently approved the distribution of an advance payment on 2020 patronage dividends to provide members with additional liquidity and cash flow this summer.

Farm Credit East has released its 2022 Northeast Dairy Farm Summary and 2023 Mid-Year Outlook, indicating that 2022 was a remarkable year for the Northeast dairy industry. This year’s report also includes dairy market outlooks from four prominent dairy economists. 

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is the United States’ second largest producer of cranberries and home to numerous cranberry related businesses. Farm Credit East Knowledge Exchange recently analyzed the economic significance of the Massachusetts cranberry industry and released its findings in a new report titled, “Economic Impact of the Cranberry Industry to Massachusetts.”

For those agricultural producers who received Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding, Farm Credit East is offering an informational webinar to prepare producers to apply for loan forgiveness.

The Farm Credit System today reported combined net income of $1.7 billion and $3.4 billion for the three and six months ended June 30, 2021, as compared with net income of $1.4 billion and $2.9 billion for the same periods of the prior year.
