The Farm Credit System today reported that combined net income increased 4.4% and 7.7% to $1.44 billion and $2.87 billion for the three and six months ended June 30, 2020, as compared with net income of $1.38 billion and $2.67 billion for the same periods of the prior year.

Farm Credit East is pleased the Risk Management Agency (RMA) has announced the extension of Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) coverage to soybean producers in Aroostook County, Maine; Hampden, Hampshire and Worcester counties in Massachusetts; Middlesex, Morris and Sussex counties in New Jersey; and Lewis and Ulster counties in New York.

Farm Credit East Knowledge Exchange recently analyzed the economic significance of the Massachusetts cranberry industry and released its findings in a new report titled, “Economic Impact of the Cranberry Industry to Massachusetts.”

Farm Credit East’s Board of Directors recently approved the distribution of a mid-year patronage dividend of $25 million to more than 11,400 farm, fishing and forestry business owners and operators across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island.
