  • OSHA Update - Hazard Communications in a Dairy Farm Setting

    Farm Credit East, the OSHA Workgroup, and the Northeast Dairy Producers Association (NEDPA) recently held a webinar regarding recent OSHA dairy farm updates. This year’s OSHA update featured topics on farm visitor safety, safety equipment and training, serious incident reporting and OSHA farm inspections, as well as hazard communications in agriculture, presented by guest speaker, Michelle Baker. Along with the overview of OSHA Hazard Communication regulations, various important reminders about other farm safety topics were discussed.

  • 2020 Dairy Farm Summary & 2021 Mid-Year Dairy Outlook

    Farm Credit East’s Northeast Dairy Farm Summary is the most comprehensive economic analysis of the region’s dairy industry. The 2020 edition marks the 41st year of the report, which looks at the financial results of 204 Northeast dairy farms. Chris Laughton, editor of the report, reviewed and discussed the year that was for dairy. Jeremy Forrett, manager of Crop Growers LLP, discussed risk management options for current market conditions, and finally, Catherine de Ronde, of Agri-Mark delivered a price and market outlook for the second half of 2021.

  • New York Dairy OSHA LEP Update

    OSHA presenters Nick Donofrio and Mike Scime of the Buffalo office and Jeff Prebish from the Syracuse office reviewed the Dairy LEP, provided an overview of OSHA findings and violations on dairy farms and explained OSHA’s ability to expand an inspection. The webinar also detailed what happens after an inspection and provided information on the New York state Onsite Consultation Service and how it can help your farm.
