With heightened cybersecurity threats and attacks, Farm Credit East wants to provide customers with resources to ensure the security of their information. This includes staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and understanding how to prevent fraudulent attempts to access your information as well as how to report fraud in the unfortunate event it occurs.

Identify Verification
When you perform sensitive online transactions, such as money transfers, Farm Credit East may ask you additional questions to verify your identity. Farm Credit East also uses secret questions as an additional authentication method.

Password Reset Prompts
Farm Credit Connect will prompt you to update your password every 90 days to ensure your password remains protected.

Secure Online Portal
Farm Credit Connect is the most secure way to communicate with your Farm Credit East team and exchange documents.

Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
Farm Credit Connect uses multifactor authentication to log on. This requires a user to verify their login credentials via another device. MFA is done via SMS text to a cell phone or a phone call with the code.

Session Timeouts
If you are signed on, but not using Farm Credit Connect for several minutes, your session will time out. To resume your activity, you will need to re-enter your user ID and password.

Team Training
All staff participate in regular training to stay up to date on best practices to protect customer information. 

Farm Credit East will not...

  • Request your password, a one-time MFA verification code or other online credentials
  • Charge a fee to access your information (i.e. billing statements or loan documents)
  • Request you click a link sent by text message or email while on the phone
  • Request confidential information via text message or unsecure email
  • Transfer money to a "safe" or "secure" account

Farm Credit East takes the utmost care to ensure the privacy and protection of your information. Any request of this nature should be treated as suspicious. When in doubt, just give us a call. We’re always happy to verify a request.

Ensuring Secure Buildings

At Farm Credit East, the security of our buildings and the sensitive financial information within them is of utmost importance. That's why we require all visitors to sign in and wear a visitor badge when in one of our offices. This ensures we know who is in our offices at all times and that each of those individuals is authorized to be there. Together, we are ensuring a secure future for our entire cooperative community.
