During this holiday season, we reflect on the many ways our employee team gives back to the communities where our customers — and our team — live and work. Throughout the past year, the Farm Credit East team came together in meaningful ways to lend a helping hand, share resources and make a difference in Northeast rural communities.
Involvement in Local Communities
For the Farm Credit East team, community involvement is second nature. Farm Credit East employees have an incredible social conscious, and you can often find them volunteering their time to serve on school boards, support FFA and 4-H students, or work at local food banks.
To coordinate these volunteer efforts, this summer, Farm Credit East launched Farm Credit East Cares Community Days. This initiative aimed to bring together employees from across offices to volunteer their time with important causes in the communities we serve.
Community Days volunteer activities included cleaning up summer camps and community gardens to help prepare for the busy summer season. Other employee teams volunteered at local food banks where they sorted and packed food. Volunteer groups also spent time setting up and helping at county fairs.
To celebrate employee volunteer efforts, Farm Credit East provided a dollar match for each hour volunteered as part of Farm Credit East Cares Community Days. These earned dollars, totaling to $22,500, were donated to various charitable causes across the Northeast. We’re proud of our team’s commitment to making a difference and look forward to continuing these meaningful volunteer efforts.
Employe Contributions Make a Difference
Thanks to the generosity of Farm Credit East employees in 2025, Farm Credit East Cares, a charitable fund established and funded by employees, will be donating $100,000 to Northeast community organizations. Initiated and funded by our employee team, Farm Credit East Cares truly epitomizes the giving spirit of the Farm Credit East team. Since inception, this program has donated more than $1.5 million to charitable causes over the past 15 years.
Giving back to Northeast Agriculture
Beyond volunteer efforts, Farm Credit East invests in Northeast communities and the future of agriculture in a variety of ways. Through grants such as the Farm Credit Northeast AgEnhancement Grant, the annual Farmers Market Grant and the newly launched Food Access Infrastructure Initiative Grant, Farm Credit East provides support to vital organizations promoting food security and strengthening agriculture.
Farm Credit East also offers several scholarship programs to invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders. The FFA and Ag Educator scholarships promote agricultural education and youth development. Each spring, Farm Credit East offers a Higher Education Scholarship for students pursuing a career in agriculture, forestry, commercial fishing or a related field.
