Farm Credit East Hosts New York State Labor Regulations Webinar
December 13, 2019
To prepare New York producers for the agricultural labor laws taking effect on January 1, 2020, Farm Credit East hosted a webinar, cosponsored by the New York Farm Bureau and the Northeast Dairy Producers Association (NEDPA), to provide an overview of these regulations and their implications for New York farms. The free webinar was held on Thursday, December 12, 2019.
Dr. Richard Stup, Agricultural Workforce Specialist for Cornell Cooperative Extension, presented this webinar. He discussed the requirements of the new regulations, including overtime wages for employees who work over 60 hours per week, a day of rest, and updates to disability, paid family leave and other wage and hour laws.
Producers joined the webinar to learn about how to prepare their farm for these new regulations in 2020. To view the recording of this free webinar, visit FarmCreditEast.com/webinars.
