Farm Credit East Donates $15,000 to Maine Charitable Organizations
January 4, 2021
Farm Credit East, a financial cooperative serving the agricultural community, recently announced that is has donated $15,000 to various charitable organizations in Maine. Donations were made on behalf of annual employee contributions to the Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund as well as from customer attendance at the financial cooperative’s customer appreciation meeting.
Eight Maine organizations received funds. Recipients included organizations supporting Maine’s agricultural community, Maine food banks and hunger relief efforts, and multiple community and health support organizations.
“We’re pleased to make these contributions on behalf of our employees and our customers to various efforts that support our community,” said Keith Stechschulte, regional manager overseeing Farm Credit East’s Maine offices in Auburn and Presque Isle. “We hope these donations help the recipient organizations continue to serve local communities.”
The Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund was established by Farm Credit East employees who raise contributions with a Farm Credit East match. Additional donated funds were raised as part of a virtual customer appreciation meeting held in November. The financial cooperative donated $25 on behalf of each attendee.
