As a Senior Tax Specialist, you exhibit both strong customer relationship and technical skills in the areas of farm accounting and farm income taxation. Exceeding branch revenue goals and generating new business are keys for the position's success. The Senior Tax Specialist is dedicated to finding creative solutions to meet customer needs and consistently generates superior results in terms of both quantity and quality of services provided to customers. A thorough understanding of Farm Credit East's products and services is required in order to provide the best solution to each customer's unique needs. 

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in taxation and accounting. Experience with CCH Tax programs is a plus. The successful candidate will possess critical technical, customer relationship, and leadership skills.

COUNTIES SERVED: Erie, Genesee, Monroe (western), Niagara, Orleans, Livingston, Wyoming

AREA:  The branch is located in an intense agricultural area with rural communities; urban amenities are conveniently located nearby. 

TYPES OF BUSINESSES:  The branch's agriculture is diverse, including dairy, vegetable, fruit, vineyards, and cash crops.  Farm related businesses are also within Batavia's target market.


The employee is accountable for the following:
  • Direct Provision of Financial Services: Provide high value financial services to customers for a profitable fee. Accurately prepare tax returns, state and federal payroll filings, and other returns. Maintain current federal and state tax knowledge and have a thorough understanding of all tax and records software programs. Maintain proper documentation and communication with members and staff in order to respond to internal and external customer needs.
  • Marketing: Increase business by means of promotional activities and superior customer service. Provide value to customers with appropriate and timely products and services.
  • Member Relations/Teamwork: Provide outstanding customer service (both internal and external) and deliver exceptional customer experience and value by setting, communicating and meeting customer expectations. Demonstrate a strong community commitment and professional presence that contributes to the overall positive image of the ACA. Act in a forthright and ethical manner, display a positive attitude and contribute positively to the overall morale of the team and association. Assist other team members and contribute to training.

Required Education

Position requires a  B.S. in Accounting, Business or related field with solid accounting credits. Candidates with a CPA license or Enrolled Agent designation preferred.

Required Qualifications

Ability to travel throughout the Association territory is required.

Incumbent is expected to take and pass Farm Credit's Farm Tax Accreditation Program within first year of hire.
