As a Payroll Associate, you will be responsible for working as a member of a cross-functional team focused on providing financial accounting services of high quality and value to customers. Your primary responsibilities will include the timely and accurate preparation of customers' payroll and the completion of state and federal payroll filings. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and will maintain active and positive communication with Farm Credit East customers and fellow payroll team members.
This position is based in the Enfield, CT branch office with a team that processes payroll for customers across Farm Credit East's Eastern and Southern regional territories.

The employee is accountable for the following:
- Direct Provision of Financial Services: Provide high value financial services to customers for a profitable fee. Accurately prepare payroll tax returns, state and federal payroll filings, and other returns. Maintain current federal and state payroll tax knowledge and have a thorough understanding of all payroll software programs. Maintain proper documentation and communication with members and staff in order to respond to internal and external customer needs.
- Marketing: Increase business by means of promotional activities and superior customer service. Provide value to customers with appropriate and timely products and services.
- Member Relations/Teamwork: Provide outstanding customer service (both internal and external) and deliver exceptional customer experience and value by setting, communicating and meeting customer expectations. Demonstrate a strong community commitment and professional presence that contributes to the overall positive image of Farm Credit East. Act in a forthright and ethical manner, display a positive attitude and contribute positively to the overall morale of the team and association. Assist other team members and contribute to training.
Position requires an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or related field with solid accounting credits and/or equivalent work experience. A general knowledge of agriculture is desirable, and a working knowledge of payroll software programs is required.
A minimum of 2 years of payroll, accounting, or record- keeping experience is preferred.
