As a Seasonal Financial Administrative Assistant, you provide assistance to other team members, meet the needs of the customer, support the growth of the business and promote a positive corporate image at all times. The Financial Administrative Assistant should also understand all phases of the financial service delivery process and takes responsibility for meeting the needs of both external and internal customers.
In this role, you will provide administrative support to financial services staff within the Bridgeton, NJ office. During tax season, this will include rolling over the prior year's customer accounts in our tax software (CCH), sending tax organizers to customers, preparing 1099's, and preparing Farmer's School Tax Credit worksheets. This also includes the management of both physical and online files (organizing, copying, scanning, e-filing and physical filing). You will also handle financial services internal accounting, including closing the accounting books and managing accounts receivable for the financial services team.
Area: The branch is located in a suburban area, with rural communities and urban amenities conveniently located nearby.
Types of Businesses: The branch's agriculture is diverse, including aquatic, nursery, livestock, vegetable, greenhouse, field crops, and fruit. Farm related businesses and part-time farmers are also within Bridgeton's target market.
Responsibilities/DutiesThe employee is accountable for the following:
- Support and Processing: Provide superior customer service in all customer interactions. Provide support and assistance whenever possible to financial services customers, credit customers and team members or direct the customers to the proper service provider within Farm Credit East. Assists with verbal and written communications with colleagues, customers, attorneys, title companies and insurance companies. This position includes some administrative duties including phones, document shipping preparation and maintaining accurate electronic and hard copy files. Duties also include scanning, file and information management, and preparation of return documents such as 1099's, tax credit forms, and payroll filings.
- Accounting: Ensure the timely and accurate accounting of all loan, financial services, and general ledger transactions for members and Farm Credit East. This may include origination entries, financial services billing, various types of advances, proper payment application, establishing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, reconciliation, processing loan payouts, and GL balancing.
- Member Relations/Teamwork: Provide outstanding customer service (both internal and external) and deliver exceptional customer experience and value by setting, communicating and meeting customer expectations. Demonstrate a strong community commitment and professional presence that contributes to the overall positive image of Farm Credit East. Act in a forthright and ethical manner, display a positive attitude and contribute positively to the overall morale of the team and association. Assist other team members and contribute to training.
Required EducationPosition requires an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or related field with solid accounting credits and/or equivalent work experience. This position also requires experience working in an office setting. Proficiency in office tools, word processing and email software and the ability to learn software systems is desirable.
