Farm Credit Fellows Program
Whether students are planning to return to the farm after graduation, pursue a career in agricultural lending or looking to enter another ag-related business field, Farm Credit Fellows is a great way to learn, hands-on, how the lending process works. Students learn from many perspectives - both in the classroom and in the field.
Farm Credit East partners with Cornell University, University of Connecticut, University of Maine and University of Vermont to administer this program. Each university's program may vary depending on the professor and student's objectives, but the general outline is as follows:
- The program kicks off the spring of a student's junior year, with a trip to Farm Credit East headquarters in Enfield, Conn.
- That summer, each student completes a week long internship at a Northeast Farm Credit office to shadow the various job opportunities available in agricultural finance.
- The final semester of their senior year, the students participate in a class to understand the lending process.
If you are interested in applying to the Farm Credit Fellows program, please contact your adviser at a participating campus.
