Meet Ethan
Ethan is a business consultant residing in central Maine. He spent his early years working at his family’s poultry farm and farm insurance agency in the lakes region of New Hampshire. While earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, he worked on several dairy farms. After college, Ethan moved to Maine with his now wife. After helping with his in-laws’ family crop farm, he then owned two agricultural insurance agencies with a partner before joining Farm Credit East in 2014.
As a business consultant, Ethan works to establish a relationship with his clients and then assesses their goals to meet his clients' needs in a customized way. His extensive experience in agriculture, small family businesses and rural New England communities helps him understand his client’s motivations and the market conditions that prevail in this region. In 2024, he was invited by the Maine Commissioner of Agriculture to serve on the Maine Dairy Task Force.
Although Ethan has a niche in dairy financial consulting, his client base is growing in other areas including large maple production, timber and occasionally fishing and lobster. Ethan has also helped many clients with Maine-specific ag loans, grants and other programs primarily through the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME).
