Farm Credit East Presents Webinar: 2026 Oyster Industry Outlook

ENFIELD, CONN. — Northeast oyster growers are invited to participate in a free Farm Credit East webinar taking place on Tuesday, March 3 at 12:00 noon. Bob Rheault of East Coast Shellfish Growers Association will provide an outlook on oyster farming approaches, challenges and markets.

The U.S. oyster industry has evolved from traditional wild harvesting to intensive, hatchery driven aquaculture, resulting in major production growth, especially in the Northeast. This webinar will cover the rising costs, market pressures, environmental challenges and competition that are now squeezing small growers and impacting the industry’s expansion.
