2014 Healthcare Reform Seminar

In February 2014, Farm Credit East held a series of seminars on the Affordable Care Act throughout the Northeast. One of the seminars was recorded and is available for playback below. Part I - Current Situation

In this recorded section of the seminar, Attorney Sheldon Blumling reviews the current status of the Affordable Care Act: what's delayed and what's not; reporting requirements, the individual mandate and more. Click play below to view.

Part II - Large Employer Test

In this segment of the seminar, Mr. Blumling goes through the large employer test in detail: who counts as a full-time employee, the controlled group concept, independent contractors and the seasonal worker exception.

Part III - Play or Pay Mandate

In this segment Mr. Blumling reviews large employer obligations such as “adequate” and “affordable” coverage; the penalties for not complying; employee measurement periods; and then closes with a review of what may be coming down the road and what all employers should be doing now.
