Farm Credit East Donates $95,000 to Local Organizations Selected by Customer Owners
ENFIELD, CONN. — Farm Credit East is pleased to have provided $95,000 in donations to Northeast organizations recommended by customer owners. 19 organizations were selected to receive a $5,000 donation to support their ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities in the Northeast.
As a financial cooperative, Farm Credit East has been a partner to Northeast agriculture, commercial fishing and forest products for more than 100 years. But being a true partner means more than just providing reliable credit and financial services; it means supporting customers, the industries they are part of and the rural communities they call home.
“Rural communities play a vital role in the success of Farm Credit East customers. As active participants in these communities, our customers have valuable insight into local organizations that are making a meaningful impact,” said Farm Credit East Board Chair, John Knopf, of Canandaigua, N.Y. “As a customer-owned cooperative, the board was pleased to allocate these funds for our customers to direct back into their respective communities.”
Recipient organizations were recommended by customer members of the Association’s Regional Advisory Committees. Organizations included several food banks, youth development and health initiatives across the Northeast.
