The Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund announced today it will donate $100,000 to organizations assisting producers recovering from July’s heavy rains and devastating flooding. Recipients of these funds include the Vermont Community Foundation and the Massachusetts Farm Resiliency Fund.

Farm Credit East Announces Support for Farmers’ Markets During National Farmers’ Market Week

In conjunction with National Farmers’ Market Week, Farm Credit East is announcing its recent awarding of $43,500 in small grants to 84 farmers’ markets across the Northeast. Farm Credit East recognizes that farmers’ markets are an important channel for many of the region’s producers to distribute farm fresh produce to both rural and urban consumers.

After initial disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, customer demand for lawn and garden products surged, and sales were generally up overall for the green industry.
