Green Industry Snapshot
Greenhouse, Nursery and Sod
- Things have settled down somewhat for the green industry as the “COVID boom” fades. Results have thus been mixed for growers with some seeing continued very strong sales and many others seeing declines from last year. Overall, sales still remain good, but are off from their record pace.
- Likewise, the strong surge in tropicals and houseplant sales has largely passed and sales are closer to previous levels.
- Most growers have been able to raise their prices and stick to them, but rising costs have cut into profit margins. Supply, labor, trucking and cost challenges are significant.
