• Overall, the green industry had a good season in 2023, but consumers are feeling the pinch of inflation, and some are “trading down” in terms of price points at retailers. Still, sales volumes were up last year for most growers and retailers.

• Rising costs, particularly for labor, have impacted margins. Most producers have been able to pass through price increases sufficient to cover these costs, but there is concern over whether that will continue.
