Wildfire smoke darkened skies across the Northeast for at least three consecutive days this July. Orange clouds were evidence of fires raging thousands of miles away in Ontario, Canada and northern Minnesota. While the duration and impact of wildfires have historically been concentrated in the Western United States, the issue is becoming a more frequent concern on the east coast. 2025 Northeast Dairy Farm Summary & Mid-Year Outlook
Farm Credit East is pleased to present the 2025 Northeast Dairy Farm Summary (DFS) and outlook for the remainder of 2026. Now in its 46th year, the annual DFS is a unique project within the U.S. dairy industry, providing a major regional summary of actual dairy farm business results. This year's DFS includes data from 136 Northeast dairy farm operations. The farms analyzed range from 70 milking cows to more than 5,000.
