Grant Writing Success for New York Dairy Farmers

As the region celebrates Dairy Month this June, the New York agricultural community has even more reason to cheer: Governor Kathy Hochul recently announced that $21.6 million has been awarded to 103 farms through the Dairy Modernization Grant Program. Behind many of these successful grant applications stands a trusted partner: Farm Credit East.

A Proven Track Record of Success

Farm Credit East’s grant writing services have become a cornerstone of support for Northeast agriculture. With deep roots in the region and decades of experience, the cooperative has developed a reputation for helping farms and agribusinesses navigate the complex world of grants and incentives.

In fact, 92% of customers who utilized Farm Credit East’s grant writing services for the Dairy Modernization Grant Program were awarded more than $2.6 million in total funding.

Since joining the cooperative in 2015, Heather has held a variety of roles. Having taken on the role of Grant Coordinator nearly two years ago, she’s helped clients identify the right funding opportunities, craft compelling applications, and stay on track through every step of the process. Consulting specialist Kathryn Canzonier has also stepped in to support Farm Credit East’s grant writing mission. She has worked with Northeast agricultural producers and agribusinesses for more than 27 years in her time at Farm Credit. Heather and Kathryn’s combined backgrounds, levels of experience and deep understanding of the grant landscape make them an invaluable resource for producers across the region.
