What They've Built: Celebrating the International Year of the Woman Farmer

In 2026, the United Nations recognizes the International Year of the Woman Farmer. This year marks a global acknowledgment of the essential role women play across agrifood systems. For women who work in agriculture every day, what matters most is what they have built: viable businesses, working land and food systems that support their communities year after year, all while advocating for agriculture in leadership positions and committing fully to home and family life.

In this issue's cover story, we highlight several of these hard-working women who give their best to agriculture every single day.
