Farm Credit East Hosts Industry Outlook Webinar Series

This month, Farm Credit East is hosting a series of webinars that will provide outlooks for specific sectors of agriculture, including feed grain and dairy, forestry, livestock, and the fruit and vegetable industries. Each webinar aims to equip Northeast producers with relevant information and insights to plan their businesses for the remainder of the year. All webinars are free to attend.

An outlook for the feed grain and dairy sectors will be held on Thursday, June 11 at 12 noon. CoBank’s Ken Zuckerberg will provide insight into feed and grain markets both locally and nationally. Following, Cornell University’s Dr. Chris Wolf will cover impacts on dairy markets and the outlook for the remainder of the year.

On Tuesday, June 16 at 12 noon, Eric Kingsley, a forest industry consultant with Innovative Natural Resource Solutions LLC, will present an outlook for the Northeast forest products industry. He will discuss lumber markets, pulpwood and biomass, as well as the health of the forestry supply chain.

Will Sawyer of CoBank and Dr. Michael Baker, Senior Extension Associate at Cornell University, will discuss meat and livestock markets, from both a national and regional perspective, on Thursday, June 18 at 12 noon.

The final webinar in the series will present an outlook for the fruit and vegetable industry and be held on Thursday, June 25 at 12 noon. This webinar will feature panelists from Cornell University and Cornell Cooperative Extension who will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Northeast growers and markets, and how production and marketing has shifted in the current environment.
