The Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund announced today it will donate $100,000 to organizations assisting producers recovering from July’s heavy rains and devastating flooding. Recipients of these funds include the Vermont Community Foundation and the Massachusetts Farm Resiliency Fund.

FARM CREDIT SYSTEM REPORTS 2022 SECOND QUARTER AND SIX-MONTH NET INCOME

The Farm Credit System today reported that combined net income increased 3.5% to $1.8 billion and 3.7% to $3.6 billion for the three and six months ended June 30, 2022, as compared with net income of $1.7 billion and $3.4 billion for the same periods of the prior year.

Farm Credit East, the Northeast’s largest agricultural lender, recently awarded $65,000 in higher education scholarships to 38 student recipients. Farm Credit East’s scholarship program supports students with diverse career aspirations in agriculture, commercial fishing, forest products and related fields from across the association’s eight-state territory, including three diversity candidate recipients.
