The One Big Beautiful Bill, signed into law on July 4, extends and amplifies the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act for farmers and makes significant changes to agricultural safety net programs. To help Northeast agricultural producers understand the legislation’s impact, Farm Credit East is hosting a free informational webinar on Monday, July 21 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.

Farm Credit East has released its 2024 Northeast Dairy Farm Summary and 2025 Mid-Year Outlook, indicating that 2024 was a profitable year after a challenging previous year for the Northeast dairy industry. This year’s report also includes dairy market outlooks from prominent dairy economists.

Farm Credit East, the Northeast’s largest agricultural lender, recently awarded $88,000 in higher education scholarships to 40 student recipients. Farm Credit East’s scholarship program supports students with diverse career aspirations in agriculture, commercial fishing, forest products and related fields from across the association’s eight-state territory.

The Farm Credit Northeast AgEnhancement Program, a joint effort of Farm Credit East and CoBank, recently provided $115,000 in grant funding to 27 organizations to assist their efforts to encourage youth leadership development, support young and beginning farmer initiatives, promote diversity, equity and inclusion, and advance northeast agriculture, forestry and commercial fishing.
