Following the recent devastating weather events in the southeast U.S., Farm Credit East has announced its Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund will donate $20,000 to relief efforts, including to organizations supporting the region’s agricultural producers and Farm Credit System employees. 

The Farm Credit Northeast AgEnhancement Program, a joint effort of Farm Credit East and CoBank, recently provided $105,000 in grant funding to 21 organizations to assist their efforts to encourage youth leadership development, support young and beginning farmer initiatives, promote diversity, equity and inclusion, and advance northeast agriculture, forestry and commercial fishing.

Farm Credit East is hosting GenerationNext seminars this fall and winter to help the next generation develop the necessary business and financial skills to manage a successful business. Anyone who would like to sharpen their management skills is encouraged to attend. Both in-person and virtual sessions are offered.

There are a number of grants and incentives available for Northeast agriculture businesses, but learning about their availability and navigating the application can be a challenge. To help with this process, Farm Credit East has released an update to its report identifying federal, regional and state grants, loan guarantees, and other incentives available to assist Northeast producers of all types and sizes.
